Celebration of the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah in Dubai

The lighting of the candles was celebrated in the presence of local leaders and tourists from around the world

Rabbi Levi Druchman of the United Arab Emirates celebrated the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah at the Israel pavilion at the 2020 World’s Fair in Dubai on Sunday, performing the ritual lighting of candles.

A ceremony was also held at the Bahraini pavilion in the presence of the kingdom’s former ambassador to the United States, Houda Nonoo, and members of the Jewish community from the Gulf State.

This event, which would not have been possible before the signing of the Abrahamic Accords, was made possible thanks to the Jewish National Fund of the United Arab Emirates.

The Israeli Consul General in Dubai, Ilan Sztulman, as well as the head of the Israeli pavilion, Elazar Cohen, were among the participants.

Mr. Druchman celebrated the Festival of Lights in the presence of local leaders, businessmen, Jewish residents of the United Arab Emirates but also tourists from around the world.

Songs were also performed by a children’s choir from the Jewish community, attended by students from the Hebrew school.
